District Health & Safety Services Update
Dear Del Valle ISD Parents, Staff, and Community, Del Valle ISD works closely with the Travis County Health Department and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure that we receive the latest information about health matters. The District implements a robust observation program at all times when it comes to health and safety issues. Campus nurses are vigilant in monitoring all individuals who enter their clinic. Methodologies are always followed to insure the safety and good health of everyone. Del Valle ISD’s custodial department staff have procedures in place to disinfect areas that may have been exposed to bodily fluids or other discharge. If you have any health related questions or concerns, we encourage you to call your child’s physician or visit the following websites:
- Center for Disease Control and Prevention
- Texas Department of State Health Services
- Travis County Health Department
The safety and health of our students and staff remains our top priority. We are asking parents for assistance in encouraging their children to always wash their hands with soap and water. We also encourage our families to get a flu shot every fall since the flu vaccine is the best protection against contracting the flu. As a reminder, if your child is ill please keep them home until they are fever-free, without the use of fever reducing medicine, for 24 hours. We will continue to partner with all public health experts at the local, state, and federal levels in monitoring important health and safety issues. Thank you for your trust in Del Valle ISD.
